Hey you...

Yes you...  I dare you!  Go ahead.  You say you're different.

U think you're radical?

I dare you!                I dare you to be radically different!

Young people who dare to be different:

Kenneth

When I first moved to Orlando, I lived near a Publix.  I wasn't really interested in working there.  But I wanted money.  My Mom told me that she wanted me to work there and she prayed for me to get a job there.  My Dad took me to fill out the application.  It took a long time to complete it.  But at the end when I finished the application, my Dad and I prayed over it.  3 weeks later I got a call from Publix.  They wanted me to work there.  I was very happy.  My Mom, Dad, and I thank God for what he accomplished.

God says, "Ask and you will receive." (Matthew 7:7)

There are a lot of things that I could talk about.  God has seen me through all of them.  About a year and a half ago I asked my parents for a laptop.  6 months passed by and I started to loose faith in getting that little desire.  One day I sat down and wrote a letter to God to tell him my desire.  Another 6 months passed by.  I asked my friend Steven if he had an extra laptop.  He said yes and 6 monthly later I got my laptop.  I thank God that he answered my prayers.

My life before All State was o.k.  Pretty quiet for the most part in the whole singing relm.  I started studying for the tests that would determine if I would make it in to All State in Tampa.  This is when I knew for sure that I needed God's help.  He gave me my voice, but I needed his help a lot.

The first test was incredibly long and only 1/100th as easy I thought it would be.  The second test was quite nerve racking and painful.  I messed up 3 times and the people testing me gave me a look as if to say, "Well, come on, sing."  The other one looked at me with a face as if to say, "Let's see what you're made of."

The third and final test was the most nerve racking one of all.  They had us separated by voice and I was put in a room with 4 people.  I only knew one person in that room.  So, I started singing in front of the 4-5 judges and this was so scary.  All of them came up to you at the same time, crowded around you, and leaned into your face to hear you sing.  Then they would comment about you in front of you and the others.

After that I got better and I ended up singing with 316 other kids.  I only knew 2 other people.  I was accepted to All State.

After God pulled me through that and helped me with the insanely high notes and 9-12 hour practices.  He has opened so many doors for me in for signing.  Now, for the Glory of God, I am now part of the devtional group at my church.

Kenneth - One day I felt really bad so I asked God to help me feel better so I could go some where with my grandma.  That day, just before my grandma came, I felt better so I went with her.  I thank God for helping me feel better.

In my heart, I wanted to go to my uncle's wedding in New York.  I also wanted to see my friends Omar and Tabea.  But my family didn't have the money or a good car to go to New York.  But God knew that my family wanted to go.

We were able to find a good price on a rental car.  And, we were blessed with some money so we could go.

So, we went to NY to the wedding.  I saw my friends and the rest of Pastor Ureña's church.  I had fun and walked around the city.

God knew that in our heart we wanted to go and he saw that we didn't have the money.  He provided the way.

Emanuel - I was working at SeaWorld for almost a year but had to leave for several reasons.  I prayed to God and said the him that I needed a job close to my home so that we would spend so much money on gas.  I applied at Circuit City and got a job.  Now I can bless people and bless my family by helping them pay bills so they don't have as many to pay.

Steven - When I was in elementary school I was falling behind in my grades.  I had to go to classes in the morning before school to help me catch up with everyone else.  It wasn't going so well so in the 4th grade I was put in special education classes because my self-esteem was dropping.  My Mom and I were praying that this would turn around and I would get better in school.  When I went in to the 8th grade I got out of the special ed classes.  This was the beginning of the big turn around for my schooling.  In high school I was doing better but still struggling to keep B's and C's.  So I kept praying for wisdom and knowledge so I could be a better student and go to college.  Now in college, God has helped me to open my mind.  Now I am an A student excelling in school and am in the top of my class.
